I combined a persuasive and analytical essay after reading The Great Gatsby my junior year of high school. Instead of writing about themes or symbolism within the book, as was suggested in potential prompts, I created my own paper topic specifically so I could bash the great and powerful F. Scott Fitzgerald. This essay argues that his work gives readers a poor impression of women, and was my favorite analytical essay to write in high school.
